Over the years I have developed a number of textile workshops for children of all ages where young people get to experience a very tactile, colourful art form that most children are not familiar with. In every work shop, children are guided through the process of making and creating something from 100% natural fleece wool. The activities are designed to inspire creativity and I have found over the years that children are able to partake in the magic of being able to transform fleece wool into a solid form. I believe that imaginative play is a child’s work and is the stepping stone for happy, productive adults of the future. It really is a very exciting and educational medium for young hands and is a wonderful experience for children.
Workshops are generally held in schools where I am able to bring all the materials and equipment necessary.
Materials are included in every workshop unto 20 children and children get to take home what they have created.
Seasonal and festival workshops.
These seasonal workshops allow children to create something beautiful while appreciating the seasons. Some of the items we have created are; spring flowers, Christmas gnomes, summer and winter fairies, harvest fruit and vegetable people. Some of the workshops involve both dry and wet felting techniques.
These seasonal workshops are:

Cost of workshop $400.00 includes all materials up to 20 children
Material cost per additional child $15 per child and include a variety
of activities for children, Easter Bunny, harvest fruit and vegetable people, winter snowman, Spring Fairy, Summer snake, felted ball.
Creating a felted picture.
The Teeny tinys felt picture workshop. This workshop is about creating a piece of felt, and really engages the child through the process of felt making. Because this is often a child’s first experience of felting, the picture is a collaborative picture, which can lend itself to connect to a particular theme you may be studying, eg the beach or farm yard animals. 4-6years.

Primary felt picture workshop. This is a focused workshop where children really engage in the craft of creating their own independent piece of art. Access to water and large tables are required.
Cost of workshop $500.00 (limited numbers or could work in pairs)

Vibrant and adorable in one, these gnomes stand 3-4 inches high and are made from 100% natural merino wool fleece and silk. Each gnome has been hand sewn to give it its own unique character. These quality gnomes come in a family of 4 seasonal colours (fabulous collectable treats.) The colours may vary slightly as each batch of felt is hand created using wools that do vary in shade. However each gnome will retain its seasonal colourful charm.
The Autumn gnome is always eating….and loves to gorge his food.
The Winter gnome sleeps a lot because he gets cold knees.
THe Spring gnome is just “so” busy doing”, darting here and there.
The Summer gnome is mischievous and loves to have fun in the sun.
